About me
Cleo is a spayed shepherd/collie mix. She was the smallest of her litter and the vet had told me most of the rest of the litter looked more collie than shepherd. Cleo looks more like a very small shepherd, and weights at best guess about 38 lbs. She was 3 in June/08. The only medical problem that she had was she started to loose her fur when she first came to live with us. She had only one bout of this and the vet was sure it was the stress of the move to a new home that brought it on. We treated it very inexpensively. She is a picky eater. She loves to play, especially with her soccer ball, and has a real lovable temperament. She gets stressed by loud and/or angry voices, in particular men. She will shake. She loves kids - growing up with 6 between the ages of 5 - 16 yrs old. She would make a great companion, she loves attention and she gives a lot of affection, she's very gentle. She doesn't chew things and is house broken. She really has no bad habits except she will get on the sofa when she thinks we're not looking. She's never gotten into the garbage or the compost. We are her 2nd owners - the people we got her from had her from 6 weeks to 11 months, and we've had her since. She was crate trained - her first owners kept her crated most of the time, she hasn't used a crate since she came to live with us. Some additional info I found out later: Cleo is about 16 inches at the withers. She lives with a cat - she will nudge with her head and nose but doesn't bite or grab. The concern about small children had to do with the grandkids and their roughness around her. When it got to be too much (someone should have stepped in before that) she gave a low growl and walked away. She was/is great with the owners 6 kids who were more considerate of her. When left alone in the house (and uncrated) she didn't get into anything - just curled up on the sofa when no one was looking, lol. Cleo is used to primarily having someone home with her all day, as her owner is a stay at home mom.
